From here, taking a dirt road, you reach the large archaeological excavation area where, in recent years, important historical finds have emerged which have led scholars to believe the area corresponds to the famous federal sanctuary of the Etruscan league (Fanum Voltumnae). In fact, the excavation area has brought to light numerous bases of Etruscan temples, a large road from the Etruscan-Roman era, a Roman villa with an adjoining thermal structure decorated with beautiful mosaics. The objects found on the site are exhibited at the National Archaeological Museum of Orvieto, located in Piazza Duomo.[\/vc_column_text][vc_separator sep_color=”” uncode_shortcode_id=”841628″][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=”132097″]<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-101218 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.orvietointerrazza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/QUARTIERE-MEDIEVALE-300x199.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.orvietointerrazza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/QUARTIERE-MEDIEVALE-300x199.gif 300w, https:\/\/www.orvietointerrazza.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/01\/QUARTIERE-MEDIEVALE-768x509.gif 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/b>Discovering the 4 city districts<\/strong> – Orvieto is divided into 4 different districts.
